First of all, I have never felt strongly enough about any hair care product
to take the time to post a message; however, I am so thrilled with the
Caribbean Dream Relaxer (CDR) that I felt that I wanted to let others
know about this phenomenal product. As a physician with a wellness center,
I am always educating my patients about decreasing their exposure to toxic
chemicals, and I have been very skeptical and very concerned about many
of the chemicals that are in the current hair straightening systems on
the market. Personally, I have very curly hair and have have lye and no-lye
relaxers in the past, but I became very unhappy about the damage that
they caused to my hair and my scalp. I became so frustrated that I let
my relaxer grow out and began to wear my hair natural. This worked out
just fine in the winter months, but in the summer months with all of the
heat and humidity, managing my curly hair became very problematic. I would
blow dry and flat iron it, but we all know that even with the use of thermal
protecting products as well as expensive ceramic irons that the hair can
still become dry, damaged and lifeless.
So, I began to do some searching on the internet about the safety of
the different hair straightening systems, and eventually I ran across
the Caribbean Dream Relaxer. I spent hours talking with John and Maria
Scarduzio (distributors on the east coast) about the safety of this product.
They were so knowledgeable and were able to answer all of my questions
and concerns. What impressed me was that all of the chemicals that I know
have the potential for toxicity, hair damage and the potential for health
risks were not included in this product. Also, this product can be applied
in such a way the client can wear their hair bone straight or it can be
applied such that the natural wave is left intact with eliminating all
of the frizz. Before the CDR, one side of my hair was extremely curly,
one side was a nice soft wave and the crown of my head was almost what
I would call kinky. Trying to find the right products to deal with all
of the different textures of my hair was very challenging. Once I got
the CDR, I can't even begin to give it the accolades that it deserves!
The important thing is that I had zero damage to my hair. There were no
little broken pieces or long strands of hair in the comb. Also, there
was absolutely no scalp irritation at all. I had even colored my hair
the day before the relaxer. Now, I have flexibility on how I can wear
my hair. I do like to wear it straight from time to time, and it is so
easy to blow it dry and flat iron it or roller set it. Then, when I wear
it natural, I have beautiful soft curls with no frizz. My hair is actually
the same texture all over my head! The only reason that I ever have frizz
any more is self induced because I just can't keep my hands out of my
hair. I am loving what I see in the mirror now. The CDR is a product that
I am endorsing 100% to my patients and their children. I know that there
are many products on the market now that do indeed straighten the hair,
but the key is finding one that has the least potential for hair damage
and toxicity. There are companies that carry products that contain many
chemicals such as formaldehyde and ether, and they say that the percentage
that is used does not pose a health risk; however, each of us is biochemically
unique. What may not be a health risk for one person may be problematic
for another. I have searched long and hard for a product that straightens
the hair, controls the frizz and has the least potential for exposing
me to any dangerous chemicals, and the Caribbean Dream Relaxer has certainly
been an answer to my prayers.
Have a Great Hair Day,
Dr. Lynese Lawson
